THE GIRL AND THE GIANT – Adeline dances Krump

***

Times stands still when Adeline dances. Her arms fast as rays of lightning, her stomping fierce, her face frozen in an angry, silent outcry. Adeline's movements look like those of a robot and like those of an elf at the same time. Adeline dances Krump. With this expressive and explosive street dance - that emerged among African-Americans in L.A. as a reaction to racism and police brutality - Adeline has become well known within just a few years. Called a „Wunderkind“ of dance, she has learned most of her skills from her mentor Kevin Jr Maddripp. The two of them have toured all across Europe. This summer, Adeline is facing an exciting challenge. After having danced on big international stages, she will now dance the main role in a popular open air show in her own city, Montréal. The show is about a little girl who tries to save the world. In face of this huge task, she becomes a giant herself. What will this be like for Adeline who sometimes feels so small and uses the power of Krump to feel strong and beautiful?
